Dangote's picture with Bill Gates is a Photoshopped Image.

During me regular day to day 'guilty pleasure' of surfing the web for the sake of it, I stumbled upon a more or less badly taken picture of Mr. William Gates (III), the Cofounder of Microsoft and Alhaji Aliko Dangote, the Chairman of Dangote Group of Companies. My first thoughts were, this is good for Nigeria and Africa as a whole 'business wise' but on a second thought I couldn't stop wondering what they might be discussing about.

This curiosity lead me to search for this image to decipher where it was taken, what the event was and basically why the picture was so badly taken in the first place with Mr. Bill Gates glowing 'like a torch'. Some blogs here and there had the image but it was mostly blurry or in one case really small. Finally, my search lead me to the dangote website that had the best quality of the picture while showcasing other images of Mr. Dangote and Mr. Warren Buffett, Chairman of Bershire Hathway, and also Mr. Dangote and two other dignitaries all at the same event. The pictures are displayed below:

Then it hit me! All the images were fake. The other images really made it obvious,
  • The Lighting is imbalanced.
  • The  Contrast is haywire (especially from Mr. Dangote's end) .
  • Finally, It looks as though Mr. Dangote was in a world of his own.
The site claimed that the event was the Forbes 400 Summit on Philanthropy Tagged :‘Change the World’, which was organised by Forbes on June 26, 2012 in New York City, United States.

Mind you, I am not saying that the event was a hoax or that Mr. Aliko Dangote, the current Richest Black Man Alive could not get a ticket to such a gathering.

I know how all these may be sounding but 'It is what it is'.

This might not totally be bad though because notable men like Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal Alsaud, the Founder and CEO of Kingdom Holding Company, one of the wealthiest men in the world, has staff members that make fake magazine covers of him gracing the covers of prominent magazines in his honour instead of sending out press releases . Like the one shown below:

In conclusion, it is either the images were meant to be "misleading" or they were made in honour of Alhaji Aliko Dangote. Make your conclusions and give me some feedback. Thanks.
